Day 6, Turn 4: Order:Ajax (5!), Reece (4!,1!,6!), Dwareet'ik (4!,1!,3!), Dragnar (6!), The goblin (2!); Order: Dragnar, Ajax, Reece, Dwareet'ik, The Goblin
Dragnar, Reece and The Goblin-
(Observation check:D:3!, R:5!, TG:6!,1!) The three of you begin moving through the room cautiously, avoiding the central stairs down. As you move behind the bar both Reece and The Goblin notice that there are still a handful of stone mugs back here, heavily layered in dust. A few undistinguisheable lumps may be cleaning rags. There also appear to be a few smaller casks stored back here. Wooden ones.
Heading through the door you open it the rest of the way. There appears to be a stairwell here also that is covered in webbing but it appears to be considerably less dense than the other stuff and you realize that you must decide which way to go. Up or down. Dragnar is in the lead and his dwarven instinct tells him that food should be down. (Coin flip actually) They'd want to store the food in a cool location which means, likely, below the establishment itself. You head down the stairs cautiously and see a largish room, now cluttered and messy. There are four staircases that head up to the room above though it seems this staircase is wider and more functional and was likely used by the kitchen staff mostly. In Reece's torchlight you all see the plethora of webs down here, and the multitude of small animal bones, mostly rat apparently, but also small lizards and such. The webs are clustered around the four staircases and heading down that way would have surely entangled you. As it is Reece stops Dragnar in his tracks and the three of you freeze. (Hidden DM rolls:6!,6!,4!) You're about to ask him why when he points out a large red-backed spider, almost hidden among the overturned barrels. The creature is facing you but is not moving yet. The goblin, likewise spotted it and drew his dagger.
Reece +2 Observation exp.
The Goblin +2 Observation exp.
Recovery rolls:Dragnar:2! You still feel hungry, thirsty and now, grumpy.
Reece:4! Your arm still is unuseable but at least your leg feels better.
The goblin:5! You continue to recover from your injuries, despite everything.
Be warned, you are probably about to enter combat. Please provide detailed actions you want me to take into account when fighting your foes. Two of your lack the use of one arm which makes grappling very hard. These spiders are not the Giant variety but are still large. Think roughly 1-2' diameter bodies.
Ajax-
(Observation check:2!)(Action:4!)
You wait for an indeterminable amount of time for the huge shaggy boar to leave but it eventually does so. Even after you think it's gone you sit silently, just in case. It never hurts to be careful and after it left your field of vision it may have still been nearby. As you silently emerge from the bushes you quickly realize that you've wasted a good amount of time hiding but, fortunately for you, while you were doing so the swan floated close enough to one side of the lake for you to attempt to retrieve it using a stick. You quickly find one and are able to get the bird out of the water.
Just thinking about roast swan makes your stomack growl and you begin plucking the creature, a laborious and time consuming process. But, it does give you feathers which you can use to make more bolts eventually.
(Gained plucked swan
Gained 4 handfuls of swan feathers
Gained 1 handful of down)
Dwareet'ik-
(Observation check:3!) It's eerily silent as you ascend the stairs. You see no sign of your companions at all, a fact which concerns you somewhat. Where have they gone? In any case, your travels are not impeded as you ascend into the Crafthall, nor into the ruined Trade depot. You're obviously cautious as you travel but noting really seems amiss. When you arrive at the Depot room you notice that the corpses of the humans are missing. Gone seemingly. Another oddity.
But there are two elven zombie corpses in very advanced state of decay, as well as three demon rat bodies and three goblin corpses. You pick one of the demon rats and go about butchering it. (Butcher rat:3!) It's not terribly easy going and you think that it's starting to turn a little sour. Nothing you can't handle of course. Just, a little less than pleasant. It takes you longer than normal, not that this is quite normal for you. You are unable to salvage the skin, having slipped and nearly sliced your hand open. You're grateful that you didn't but you ruined the pelt. You have three pieces of large demon rat meat, 1 ruined pelt, 1 pile of chunks, 1 skull and a small pile of large demon rat bones.
You quaff some more of your soup to fill you up and take your prizes below.
Recovery roll:3! You feel a little better, but not much
