[ADJECTIVE]
« on: February 02, 2010, 07:52:05 am »

I wondered if the [ADJECTIVE] tag works for trap components only, or for other objects as well.

If so, would it work for creatures and the likes?
I planned on making some more diversity in the types of civilizations, some, for example, being 'twisted' versions of their normals ones ('Twisted dwarves', 'twisted humans' and 'twisted elves'), and other being savage ('savage humans', etc..)

(Of course the name wouldn't be the only thing I changed.

You can make new creature without the language files. Just change the name tag.

I know that, but it would seem much easier and/or an easier way to distinguish them. Besides that, the language files have got nothing to do with my question. :S

Check these wiki pages to find out what tags are available.  ADJECTIVE works on weapons but it doesn't work on creatures.

However, you can in fact just change the NAME from "dwarf" to "twisted dwarf."  Lots of mods have dark elves etc.

The purpose of the [ADJECTIVE] tag is as follows:

All items have a name, and some are made of materials.
The format is usually <material> <name>, which means that anything listed after the material is just put in the name tag.
However, if you want another word to go in-front of the material, it cannot go in the name tag; that's what [ADJECTIVE] is for.
The format becomes <adj> <mat> <name>.

However, creatures are not listed with materials, so the adjective tag becomes pointless, even if it would work.

On the other hand, if you want to use it with other items that include materials, I know for a fact that it works with weapons. Test it out with other items if you want it to.
