scaleable building
« on: November 19, 2007, 06:15:00 pm »

like bridges and roads i think floor sets walls and fortifications should be scaleable with umhk
they would require exactly the number of ingredients per tile and have the same limit 10?x10? as bridges and roads

I think they should require one item per tile. Then each tile can count as a separate construct and can be removed individually. However I like the idea of placing multiple wall or floor tiles at a time. It would make life a lot easier.

The one-item-per-tile rule does seem to work nicely, but placing them individually is a pain. Seconded.

I'd like it to go even further, and create all resizable constructs with the designation interface.  Arbitrary size, so you can order construction of the entire whatever all at once.  And it prompts you for exactly the right amount of material, after you've designated the whatever.

the learning curve for menus is tough as it is, so consolidating the styles would be nice to accomplish

a bridge has 3,4 options
a support has 1 option

and the b C f/w/F are too cumbersome to accomplish multiple times

making bC(w/f/F) the same as b o (road) then it would make it much easier

scale the designated area, select the ingredients with the same style as road

though not 1 rock for 3 squares but 1 ingredient per tile

making a 10x10 can of course use 100 ingredients but it would be easier and quicker than going through the whole process 100 times
