Ok, I think this is fine to talk about and post. Did a few searches but didn't pull up any topics or posts about the game though so that always makes me leery (we have tons of game topics around here, why not one for this?)

Wikipedia and Cnet both have download links to this game so it should be fine, right? If not mods, just delete or lock this...

Never heard of Grid Wars? Well it's basically the PC clone of Geometry Wars, and it's free.
And it's fun. Supports controllers of all types as well as keyboard and mouse should that be your thing.
Oh yeah it's also pretty easy to mod (graphics / sound).

I'm not very good at the game my self, but I did have fun throwing together a DF Tileset for the game. I used the Bisasam 24x24 Tileset for the sprites since it was the highest quality ASCII sheet I could find.

Most of the icons have been updated, though I did leave a few alone, and some I couldn't change at all.

You replaced the elephants with demons?  What about carp?

Yeah I thought the demon was a scarier icon to have as they zoom at you with their tentacles flailing. I wasn't thinking elephants though, I was thinking elves, and how much of a nightmare it would be to get a hug from them while you are surrounded by trees.

I think I've got carp in there too though (a fish icon atleast).

Yeah carp are there. They move fast and are dark blue, making them hard to spot before its too late.

Maybe you could change the blue vortex thingy to the bottomless pit icon "#".

Overall I like this game. Very relaxing for a shooter.

HFS calling every thing to it, in whispers, low and slow till it reaches critical mass and opens it's self to you. I'd have liked demons to come spilling out but I think it's water and carp right now.
