How do I catch snatchers with my military when they hit the traps when mil is aw

Tried to squish that last bit in the title.

Anyways, I'm asking how do I use my military stationing to catch snatchers because when I station them at my entrance, the snatchers stay away and when the military isn't there, they hit the stonefall traps.

its probly just bad luck that your military is away when the snachers come

Train some war dogs and tie them up at the entrance.

I actually have something potentially better, cave crocs. I just recently got a female to round out the male into a mating pair. Granted it will take a while before things really getunderway, but even a goblin would be no match for an angry croc.

The very very very front entrance to my fort is just a 1-tile wide string of cage traps.  Goblin thieves got caught every time, their cage gets built in the danger room and linked up to a lever, and the military can get around to them once there are enough collected to make a nice gore slick.

cage traps could work but not always. also if you attempt to move or pit a thief he/she will get loose and run away. unless he/she gets recaptured then he/she will be pitted or moved.
