Did the Lions take revenge for Boatmurdered?
« on: January 18, 2010, 12:56:48 pm »

Lions go on an all out attack against Elephants. Look at the date. It's in sync with the time that Boatmurdered was still being played. Are the lions fighting for the dwarves?

....imagine breeding War Lions to fight the Elephants. Imagine the hell that would raise.

Just add [trAINABLE] to their raws and you can make War Lions, as long as you tame them with the dungeon master first.

[COMMON_DOMESTIC], I think, will allow you to buy them at embark.

Completely normal, even if riskier than usual, beavior. Predators always target baby animals and baby elephants are no exception. Even though baby elephants are big, they aren't much bigger than typical lion prey and the mother elephant was alone and so the lions would have an easier time getting to it than if it were in the middle of a herd.

I couldn't help but think of the DF mechanics.  The lions wrestle with the elephant until he gets over-exerted and then they go for the bite attack kill.

That means you are playing too much close to enough DF. You will reach the recommended value when you see the whole world in ASCII/ the graphics you're using.

Ah yes. I once went ahead and added the trainable tag to everything.

my War Unicorn army was eventually destroyed by the octoclowns. Piercing damage hurts.

Why war lions?

Cats are the same shape, they'r more available and the breed at a pace that makes most rabbits blush.

I want to unleash a tide of Warcats upon something.

Lions are just very big cats, and War Lions sounds better than War cats. War cats sounds like a ripoff of Thundercats.

Want to make an animal force sound cooler? Put the war prefix in front of it.

War Dog

War Bear (Bear Cavalry)

War Wolf

War Lion

War Elephant

War Walrus ...... Warlus

Whoever said that wrestling animals in DF is wrong... are wrong. Because they DO wrestle, slowly and painfully:
