In the x3r or x3tc (yes, i know, great games, although the music is quite obscure) game files, I can't remember which one, in the soundtrack file, the one with the name 00015 was probably one of my favourite.

You'll have to find it yourself though, as i'm almost certainly certain that it isn't on the intertubes anywhere.

Has an incredibly 'spacey' feeling, or at least, for me it does :)

Hmm it's a great song, but I think I never heard it in-game, weird. (My game is X3:TC)
[That song is from an Unknown Sector. I haven't found all and I don't stay in them for long anyways  :P]

Even though X3:TC is a 'Good' game in my opinion, I'd like to point some songs for people that like ambient, spacey songs:

00025 - Music from the Herron's Nebula Sector - This music describes the feeling of awareness and suspicion I had on all X games (and I think this song comes from X2).

08105 - Peace2 - Music from Kingdom's End - Ambient song which both gives a space feeling and a 'liquid' feeling. It's a Boron Sector, the race of aquatic creatures that are the only ones that developed an engine that works both on space and on deep oceans.

08106 - Peace7 - Music from Seizewell Sector - Very ambient, and awesome peaceful space feeling. Also, In-Game is very weird to jump into Seizewell Sector and hear this song for the first time, since it's a Teladi Sector.....

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Yeah, I probably should've included that I couldn't find it in game ^^

It's really worth taking a look through the soundtracks folder, another I found was 00029, very slow, and is pretty good ^^
IMO, of course ^^

Aaah, I love kingdom's end music.
It's so relaxing :)

The Neverhood. Here's a weird little animation with one of my favorite tracks, take a look at some of the related ones too.

It sounds like they made the music out of clay.

Because the thread reminded me of it:

The music from FATE was actually pretty good. Overused, more backgroundish music, but I really enjoyed it. More than the game, surely.

A reason I always played the Starfox Assault demo at stores. The music of the first levels. I'm always the type for great battle music in the background.

Who can forget Star Wars X-Wing Series games? Some Tie Fighter Music: Admiral Thrawn's Theme, Inro theme of Tie Fighter, and Victory for the Empire (best played in a loop), Tech room, and In-Battle (apparently this version of the track has alot of Imperials coming in, and a few Rebel reinforcements and some shit being blown apart. Hear it enough, or play the game, and you can imagine the battle that went on here just by themes alone, This apparently was a 5-minute long mission with a short victory trip back to your Star Destroyer while the victory theme plays.). Ahh, nostalgia. I list Tie Fighter since it had a more unique soundtrack compared to X-Wing and X-Wing Alliance. Personally, I prefer the DOS versions over CD-Rom versions.

The first in the X-Wing series I actually played 'til completion. The Imperial side actually rocked; having Thrawn leading your team to victory was also pretty badass. But the music was a surefire motivator.

Dune II, you know it to be true. Building up, Battle Music, Spice Trip, Epic War, Marching Towards the End, Dark Technology.

EDIT:
Okay, I guess Star Wars was a pretty obvious one I pointed out, but still, Tie Fighter did have a more unique soundtrack nonetheless.

EDIT EDIT:
And just because I linked to a part of it, I might as well link to the rest of it because it's too damn cool. Death Star Tunnel Run. Oh the memories... The nightmares. So many attempts... Q_Q, but the victory was so worth the effort. All this flown with a joystick and keyboard, not a gamepad.

EDIT EDIT EDIT:
Just remembered another game with surprisingly good music. Battle Clash and Metal Combat for the SNES. They so need to make a Wii remake or sequel of this game. It's been begging for one.
