fps: 2?
« on: January 19, 2010, 10:19:20 pm »

For some reason the game runs at 2 frames per second, lol. The max fps cap is at 100 (looked at init file)
It takes a really long time to just select options, though what sucks even more is it takes 5 seconds for a dwarf to take a step

I'm using may green's tileset.
I remember long time ago when I played this, and it always ran at 100 before I started getting more dwarves.

I'm using Windows 7, and it could have a connection with another problem that I had http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=48165.0

Try messing with the PRINT_MODE option.

You're getting low FPS even when playing with menus?  Sounds like something else is going on... you should always get back to an FPS of 100 when paused and playing around in menus.

How old is your fortress?  Do you have a lot of stone lying around?  Any fluids moving about?

I've never tried it and there's a good chance it could make them freak out.
Do it.

Just embarked. No stones, only a small brook, and 5 war dogs.

Scrach that. It worked perfectly in the windowed mode; fullscreen runs slowly (fps: 2)

Thanks a lot, it worked (fps:103 at main menu), with FRAME_BUFFER.
What does FRAME_BUFFER MEAN?

I don't really know what it means in this context, to be honest.  Glad it worked though!
