I think the UK would be yellow or possibly orange if that new internet bill gets through the house of lords.

Most western countries would probably qualify as Yellow, with a couple of Oranges (Australia seems to be trying to head towards an Orange and potentially even a Red if someone doesn't shut that stupid senator up.)

Yellowish-Orange here. No pornography, nor criticizing the ruling family, the government or Islam.

The worst it got is when they tried to censor one of the ruling family member's video of him torturing a man for 45 minutes, before they decided that it was a lost cause.

Jesus christ, the thought of Jafar with a bear is enough to make one require a trip to the dry cleaner.

Oki, so the rules... what do you think so constitute as a blue status? And we sorta have to give an example of a country or something.

Hm, not entirely sure which country has next to no internet laws.

Canada possibly? they seem to have fairly free laws (from an outside obeservers point of view anyway).

Russia used to ignore international copyright although I think that has changed last year.

Failing them then the Scandinavian countries always seem to do well with rights issues, compared to the rest of Europe at least.

I don't know much about the countries outside Europe and North America I'm ashamed to say.

Quote from: that wikipedia article mentioned much earlier
Canada
Canada is in ONI's nominal category and is not on RSF's internet enemy list. In a few cases, information which the government is actively attempting to keep out of Canadian broadcast and print media (such as names of young offenders or information on criminal trials subject to publication bans) is available to Canadian users via Internet from sites hosted outside Canada.

Project Cleanfeed Canada (cybertip.ca) decides what sites are child pornographic in nature and transmits those lists to the voluntarily participating ISPs who can then block the pages for their users. However, some argue that they are accountable to no one and could be adding non pornographic sites to their list without public knowledge.[citation needed]

Here in South Africa I have not noticed any government interference into the internet, but that might change when they get desperate about keeping the well educated people from leaving.  Also, if it is illegal off the internet, it's also considered illegal on the internet, so I'd say we're Green or Blue.

However, in matters not concerning the law or the government: network neutrality is long gone, and internet has been expensive and slow for a long time, but our telecommunications monopoly/company claims to be fixing this for the 2010 soccer stuff.
