I am quite afraid of giant desert scorpions now.

I was playing around in adventure mode with an axedwarf, and was fighting a giant desert scorpion. After goofing around and throwing clumps of sand at it, I came in close to finish it off. I hacked off one of its legs, then it started grappling me. I wasn't too afraid until I realized suddenly that I was only punching it.

My death was quick therafter, as it started hacking me to death with my own axe.

I really, really, hope this is a bug.

Hahaha wow Ax Wielding scorpions? That's news to me, do you have a log of the information showing that it's hacking you away with your ax?

Otherwise it sounds like the main thing that happened here was your ax got lodged in the scorpion. Though to see them wield it would even surprise me.

This must just be a bug do to their having grasp-enabled pincers. Their raw doesn't include the [EQUIP] tag, but it may be because your axe got caught in a wound and it pried it out, and continued to attack you while still grasping it, which conceivably could act like it's wielding the axe, but that's still pretty unusual.
If you modded them to have the [NOSTUCKINS] tag it should never happen again. Can't find their raw file though except on the wiki, so I'm not sure where to look to help with that.

Any beast that [GRASP]s as part of its combat repertoire will end up beating you to death with your underwear, if you're unlucky.

Although apparently you're really unlucky. Possibly it wrestled the axe away from you, or possibly it was what Eric Blank said.

Still a kickass scorpion, though. You realize that that scorpion, thanks to killing you, will now go down in history as some sort of scorpion berserker?

I do not know what a log is or how to store it. However, it was in fact hacking me to death with my axe. That much I can confirm. I do not know if I can replicate this bug without trying for a long time-- I or the scorpion will die usually before this happens again.

However, I do think he wrestled the axe out of my hand using his [GRASP] claws of doom.
