I meant melee, not thrown. *strikes one more off the "this would be nifty" column*

Less haphazardly, what role does the first dwarf play? It'd be nice to be nonredundant.
And is it permitted to have used any Craft skills for one's equipment prior to the adventure?
Food and water and shelter ignored? Mundane ammunition?

The three main concepts I see are minstrel to record the legend as it transpires(bard), "merchant" and/or treasure hunter who's following the Standard to see what's going to go down and/or influence it and make some money along the way (rogue or expert). Mechanically could be partyface or skillmonkey.

At least, for nonevil characters.

Time frame would be sometime in the afternoon-evening, in the Pacific-Eastern time table.  So far all of my players (except for one) are US players.

Standard language selection

There will be no bashing with carts either.  Beyond the, this is fairly serious game, a dwarf trying to pick up a cart and beat people with it...just doesn't seem to work in my mind.

The first dwarf is a paladin, food and water and the like will be used, so make sure you bring some, and no craft skill usage before adventure.

You certainly could try to use the situation for monetary gain, but just keep in mind that the majority of the party is made up of zealous humans, and a dwarf out to prove himself, so consider yourself as walking on very very thin ice.  But then again if you can pull it off it could turn out to be quite fun/Fun.

A bard to record the journey would be something else that would be interesting to have, like having Loial from WoT.

no craftskill use? 44-year old dwarven 'merchant' has never crafted what it would take 3 weeks to craft. Got it. *adjusts inventory some to account for less flexibility*

How far is it to this ...'lost city?' I guess I'll just use my fungible goods to purchase the rations.

You didn't say whether flaws or traits were permitted.

Feats I'd like to know about permissions: Insightful Reflexes (CAdv: sub Int for Dex for Ref) Steadfast Determination (Players Handbook 2: sub Con for Wis on Will, requires Endurance)

What do Dwarves think of those 5 gods? Do they have their own, etc?

I am going to have to pass Cobalt.  We have a 5 man party now, so recruitment is largely closed, however if I get a really good character that I like I am open to making an addition to the party.

'm still curious what the dwarves think of the gods.

Dwarves are largely indifferent of humans/humanities gods in general.  The dwarves prefer the mountains and underground, and humans like the above world, so they kind of dont have issues with one another.

Hm, pity. I had a sort of nebulous fanatic idea. Owell, gimme a call if a slot opens up.

I guess you're full, but if a slot does open up, I'd still be interested in playing, using Father Hamilton as my base character thread.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?
