twas good enough for vikings, and could be a source of iron for non digging civilizations, like humans or gobs

I like it it would sort of be an iron found in aquifer layers or near aquifer layers. but not bleed water

as i've read in here http://www.hurstwic.org/history/articles/manufacturing/text/bog_iron.htm they dug up the peat from bogs and extracted pea sized pebbles of bog ore, we could do that in a way simillar to sand extraction, with several bags of peat wielding an iron bar
