Moving Water... From an Underground Pool
« on: December 22, 2009, 07:21:24 am »

So, some of my dwarves were injured by beak dogs, earlier, and they're starting to get thirsty.
Right now, I'm getting SPAM because of it...
"Urist McProfession cancels Give Water: Need Empty Buckets"
"Urist McName cancels Give Water: No water source"

The only source of is a underground pool at the corner of my map.

But it's in the corner. :(

I could just build a floor there or something, but I don't want my dwarves occupied and there're also dangerous stuff appearing on the map. :\

What would be the easiest and least fun way to get it near my fort(without flooding it, of course.)?

Dig a 1x1 pit, use a dwarf bucket chain to fill it, then build a well over the now full pit.

You might want to make it a little bigger so you can refill it later mind you.

Damn, we should be allowed to do that with magma. Bonus: shaved dorfs.
