it's like with webmail notifiers for firefox... they enter automatically with the password and account name...

They make money through indexing your data, and then selling it to people. They never transmit anything personally identifiable, including the email address. (no sharing with spammers)

With said money, they can afford to keep a copy of ALL your emails indefinately. Even attatchments remain in google-space untill you delete them. You can even email yourself stuff to suspend it in said google-space.

Unhindered email access from any gmail-accessible device. Just about any computer setup for a diffrent email service, and the google homepage. Almost any computer on a college campus. Almost anybody else's computer in the world. Anyplace you can access the internet with your laptop, as much as email is otherwise accessible to people.

With that said, you should think of a name 4 letters long that is never taken in any online community.

Why would you be unable to use F***? Except for the fact that someone else already has thought of it probably...

It'd be extremely awkward to try to give anyone your email address in person..

Related: I can access Gmail from my Zune.
Also: Why, exactly, does it need to be four letters long?
