No goblin seiges

so i've got another fortress going, have already got 160 dwarves and a count.....yet no goblin seiges. I've had theives and ambushes and it says they hate me, so why havent i seen anything?

Sometimes it can take several years before goblin sieges take place. If you're getting babysnatchers, that means you'll eventually get sieged, so don't worry.

IIRC, sieges have a wealth prerequisite. I'm not sure if it's a static number or if goblins are simply more likely to siege you after you've accumulated X fortress wealth, but keep increasing your wealth and you'll attract more goblins.

Goblins will only start to siege when you have a population of 80 or above, Also, the size of their force in sieges only increases with the amount of sieges defended against, not wealth.

Ah, you're right. It's thieves/babysnatchers that are dependent on fort wealth.

Anyway, that means that your answer is probably just 'wait a while'. Sometimes it takes gobbos several years to siege; I can recall a couple forts where it took seven or eight years before I ever got one.

I'm pretty sure distance is a factor, too: the further you are from the nearest Goblin tower, the longer it will take on average for the Goblins to siege you.

My soap fortress has had the same issue. Year 6, 200+ dwarves, over a million fortress wealth, just need to build a road for the king to show up (though that's being held off until his soaphouse is done). Several ambushes, kidnappers, thieves, a pair of titans, but still not a single siege.
