Whee doggies, the dentist just stole four of my teeth and $250.

I just did a local anaesthetic so I'm not groggy, but the update will be delayed. I'm gonna sit down with some milkshake and finally watch Inglourious Bastards.

Don't expect a bonsai tree to grow the miniature planting it.
Trust your calculator. It's something to count on.
Pencils could be made with erasers at both ends, but what would be the point?

Yeah so the game is going to take a lot longer than I had planned. You guys are doing much hunting and bad stuff is happening a lot, which delays you. I didn't really want this thing to go three months, I had originally planned for one month.

And by the halfway point it looks like you'll have encountered everything that can be encountered in my random tables. So in any case the latter half will be boring as all get-out. There are a couple fun little payouts, like the very end, but it's nothing spectacular.

I guess it's a forum game lesson: work out exactly how many turns you want the game to take, and expect that it might go twice as many if things don't go as planned.

well I think this is easily fixed by increasing how much we move each day. Just generally increase things to make the map smaller.

I haven't updated and basically dropped it. I'm starting a weekly tabletop D&D game, have 3 solid and 2 possible players so far, and I need to spend my writing time working on that rather than Dwarven Trail.

If I did this again I'd do the "posters vote on next action" style rather than individual players who each have inventory and such.

It seems to me that, in my case anyway, a forum game will not finish if the referee has to work too hard at it.

Was a nice try for what it was, but I can well understand the work thing. I've lost interest in a community fort and a RTD because they became too much work, and I just moved on.

Maybe someone else will pick this up sometime and try it again, who knows.
