No. IIRC (I saw another thread about this somewhere), they cut out the heart of the only true god of Tamriel and closed themselves into a volcano where something happened and they all died trying to harvest the power of the gods heart...

What happened was that they tried to make their own god (a giant bronze robot powered by magic and steam) and they pissed off the real gods.
