Hi Guys,

I'm playing DF since a long time, but I never created bins befor (I'd prefer to see the finished goods in huge stockpile).
Usually I can find any answers in the forum or the Wiki, but not today for this issue. Maybee because it's a unknown bug in my game, I don't know.

Anyway, I just tried, and I have a problem. The exact opposite to the problem solved on the following post:

Apparently, in the Depot, I should see the bin's content, and select it, but actually, I only see a bin and I can't find a way to select it's content.

While trading with the elves, it's a problem.

Please, forgive my broken english.

I tried several versions on the same save, I'll start a new save tonight while waiting for answers.

The contents are listed under the bin, slightly indented from the bin text.

As an example, with imaginary contents.   

Finished Goods Bin
 Narrow Silk Shoelace
 Elf Antler Toy
Ammo Bin
 Dog Tail Bolts

If the bin just says

Highwood Bin

then it is empty.

That's my problem. I saw the Video tutorials and found that Bins where very usefull (finally after nearly 2 years :p)...

But in this first try, I sent a full barrel in the Depot (I can see the goods inside, pretty encrusted toys...), but there is only 1 line, listing my barrel, and nothing else.

Anyway, it seems to be a bug, then I'll try another build of the game (the same as in the tutorials for instance), and if the same thing happens, I'll put some screenshots here.

You cannot sell the contents of barrels without selling the barrel itself - if you want to trade such items to the Elves, you must use metal barrels.

Bins work just fine - you can bring the bins to the depot, then manually select every item within the bin so you don't sell the bin itself. Amusingly, this also confuses nobles who make export bans - since it was the bin that was brought to the depot, and you didn't sell the bin itself, any banned contents won't result in crimes.

Sorry, my bad, not a Barrel, I was talking about a Bin.

This time it's working, it was probably a bug.
