Here's one:

For what Beatles songs are credited as being written by Ringo Starr?

Is that tank 52 tons loaded weight or unloaded? Because I'm assuming it can't fire because it has no ammo.

Honestly, it's just part of the following joke:
In The US Tank school, the following are definitions, as appropriate, by the different organizations that support the tank:

In the tank gunnery school, you are taught that if your tank could move, and communicate but could not shoot, what you had was a worthless tank.

In the tank propulsion school, you are taught if your tank could shoot, and communicate, but could not move, what you had was a worthless tank.

in the tank communication school, you are taught that if your tank can move, and communicate, but can not shoot, what you have essentially is a 52 ton portable radio.

I took it from http://www.military-quotes.com/jokes/military-jokes-4.htm, I'm pretty sure that the modern Abrams would be a fair bit heavier even without bullet, as there's another layer of DU inside to help protect from Penetration rounds.

How common would it be to have a tank that was unable to move but could move its turret to aim?

I guess if it were mired.

But how closely are the tread propulsion and turret rotation and barrel elevation connected?

Not much. Most mobility kills are due to having a tread knocked off or a road wheel damaged. The turret still works fine (which is one of the reasons why taking tanks on sucks for infantry, you might get lucky, but the tank will still kill you)

Engine damage would prevent electricity production, though, and would stop the turret from moving if it were motivated directly by the engine. Or does it work separately? I guess I was asking more about engine damage, but the tread/wheel thing is good to know.

Damaging a tank engine is pretty tough. If you managed to take out the turbine, I'm pretty sure that it would stop turret control. The loader 7.62 would still work, I think, as would the 50 on older models.
