Calvinball Mafia Discussion

Well, if you follow the Threshold thread, you saw this come up. Now, it unfortunately won't be Calvinball, but it will be as close as possible to insure the ideas of both Calvinball and Mafia. I'd be willing to run it if/when OL and Second Chance end, though anyone may if they wish.

What I was thinking:
Each player gets, in their role:
Calvinball Mask x1
Win condition x1
Flag x3 (though you may only carry one at a time, as befits the laws of physics)
Calvinball x1 (you may choose, though you may not carry it if you're carrying a flag)
Miscellaneous Equipment, to be placed as desired.

You may, in some occasions at night, in others at day, declare or nullify rules, flag effects and restrictions, and zones. To keep it somewhat mafia-related, there would be some restrictions. The Mod would keep a running account of rules and zones in the OP. Give your ideas as you wish.

So basically, each player would have control over rules like Deadlines: "Cannot be extended," "Cannot be shortened," "Can be interrupted by hammers."

That sort of thing?

New Rule: Each person must vote for two different people at a time.  Not voting results in both votes being on themselves.



Oh, Win Conditions should ahve two parts: an individual and a team.  The team is the standard 'town/mafia win'.  The individual will be something wacky, like have the word "OMGUS" said by someone OTHER than you said 10 times.   The condition should be odd but not actually DAMAGING to your other condition (no "town win, but you need to get 2 townies mislynched" or some mess)

Could be even more even and put three parts:

1. the team condition
2. the individual wacky condition
3. A second person MUST fail their 2nd condition.  You are NOT told who that person is, just that if they win you lose.  A hint can be placed to help give a clue as to what their 2nd condition is.

I want the freeform flow of chaos provided by Calvinball, but I want it to maintain just enough order to keep the feel of the team. It would sort of be like the Broken Brothers game suggested by ExKirby earlier, but more chaotic and freeform.

And dak, individual conditions would be sweet, though they should also be more related to the sport of Calvinball itself and vague enough that it would be more fun. I still want Zones in, so that you can have rules like "While in this Zone, you gain a second vote as long as your posts consist of exactly eight lines of rhyming iambic pentameter and you hold one flag, and there is exactly one more Calvinball than the number of players in the Zone."

Maybe you can only interact with people in certain zones based on where you are if certain flags are raised?
