[SPOILER QUESTION] Peasant ruler not showing up?

as the title say basically, I hit the Happy Fun Stuff a couple of years ago, i've had traders come and go since, My liaison is coming and going well, not crippled or dead, although he's called a village liaison. I'm getting migrant waves fine, and my civ's ruler (queen) is fine and dandy sitting in the mountain home..... what gives? I thought the peasant king arrived shortly after discovering HFS?

The king/queen seems to arrive at different times, sometimes it's the season right after a king is called(By whatever way), and I've heard of people mentioning the king/queen arriving 5-6 years after it.

Besides that, make sure there actually is a king/queen, press the c for civilisation screen and check if it lists one. They can't come if they're dead.

Well, then the only thing I can think of is to wait a while longer, I think the time they take to reach you may be related to how far your fort is from the old mountainhome on the world map.

Did you use a 3d part utility to reveal the location of the HFS? If yes, I believe that breaks the King showing up.

yes and no..... I did use visual fortress to reveal it, but as that does nothing but read from DF's memory, not write, I assume that it wouldn't cause the same problem. I didn't use the older reveal programs.

I guess I'll just have to wait for her to show up then.

In other words, you did get the message "You have struck Raw adamantine! Praise the miners!" - without that, the king/queen won't arrive dressed as a peasant.

actually, I got it every time I mined out more adamantine after I reloaded... which I thought might have been a bit odd. I sthat normal?

just to finalise this thread, it took 3 years, but eventually, she showed up.

[edit] - I think I had to get more than 80 dwarves for it to happen

Maybe. It was just strange that I had a baby, which tipped me over to 80 dwarfs, then the queen arrived. possibly just a coincidence
