Noob modding questions
« on: October 18, 2009, 11:57:14 am »

Hey, i'm new to modding and I want to try it out and edit a couple things. But I don't really know what im doing... :-\

So how do I create a backup of the raws if I screw up? Do I just copy the folder, save it somewhere else, then if the raws screw up, replace the text with the text in my backup folder?

Also, if I change a simple value in the raws like the value of a stone, would I have to gen a new world for it to take effect?

first- yeas i've done that, though its not strictly necessary as you could download it again.. but it might help, and second simple things like that won't, though if you add a new entry, or change one of the entities (civilisations) you would, there is a thread at the top of the page that gives all of the reasons

edit: Welcome!  ;D have Fun  :P

If only it showed Dwarf Fortress... oh yeah! it does
