random, meaningless deja'vu
« on: October 18, 2009, 07:02:46 am »

i am,and have been for as long as i can remember, been running into peculiar events that relate to my dreams and reality.
oftentimes in a dream,i see a location from real life, usually a park, a road,a room in a house, something like that.other times it's abstract concepts and not locations, which i lack the tact to describe. this would'nt be unusual if the fact is, i have never, without a doubt been to these locations, andthat often, be it a day, most of the time a month or two later,i come across the very same place from my dream.
most recently i Dreamt an image of a cement walkway surrounded by grass with a few trees on the side. about a week later, i am visiting a relative and we walk over to a nearby park. while there i see the exact image from the dream.
never do these locations mean anything. nothing about them is ever important in any way,in my dream its like looking at a picture, its never more than for a second or two and it often fades from memory because of its lack of importance.
never have i saw anything that was ever important, it is only ever locations that usually i come across while walking around. each time i have this dejavu feeling it is in a place i have never been before.
i am becoming disturbed at the frequency this is happening,it is beginning to un-nerve me a bit. has anyone else experienced these deja'vu-ish  feelings besides me? note that i do not believe in psychics or any of that bull, this to me feels like i have been to places i never have.
i would keep this to myself as when i read it,it sound thoroughly crazy, but this used to only happen maybe twice a year.
it has happened 4 times in the last few recent months. i again stress the fact none so far of these deja vu's have been important, it just happens seemingly to places and during times i would otherwise never remember.

Uhhh... Wierd as it seems, I've had the same. Only it's been events, a snippet of about ten to fifteen seconds that ends up happening later, sometimes far later on.

Have you ever actually remembered these dream images before you see whatever it is?  My dreams tend to reference past dreams that I'm pretty sure never actually happened.

i was thinking for a long time that i was just remembering these dreams but then thinking they didnt happen, but with the frequency of this rising i can no longer mark it off as i imagined the dream.
i know there isnt anyone out there with an answer, but i wanted to see a general consensus if there was anyone else who experienced something like this.

oh and tack, that would be what i was trying to say about the rare few that are abstract concepts, they come on usually during a discussion or talking with someone,i feel like i have already had this conversation and/or i feel like i never have had this conversation but i already know whats going to be said. i lack the word savviness at this time of night to describe it any more aptly than that. these deja vu feeling coupled with the recent insomnia of mine due to dreams id rather not have are causing me to lose sleep by posting topics like this.

I think the worst I've ever had was when I was talking to a girl on the phone while in my bedroom. And I knew what I was going to say to her, and what she'd reply. And I told her I predicted the conversation in a dream - and shit just got wierd.

I don't have them that often though... I get away with about three or four a year.

yeah, ive never brought it up before in a public setting, ive only discussed it with a close few friends who say they've had these occur as well. off-topic, the only dreams ive had these last few weeks are the "movie" type ones. i am viewing myself or someone else through my own eyes, but i am helpless to act. i simply must watch as whatever happens, happens. this in and of itself to me is a nightmare, coupled with the fact it is a nightmare im watching does nothing to help it, quite annoying it is too to have it follow me throughout most of the day, along with me remembering it quite a few weeks afterward..

I don't have Deja vu as much as I have things happen in dream happen as soon as the alarm goes off.

For example I was once dreaming that I had to disarm a bomb and it was quickly counting down to zero. I wasn't able to and as soon as it hit zero my alarm in the real world went off.

This happens to me all the time.

i dont understand what you mean.if that happened it would just be a random dream. more than likely i just saw a picture of a park somewhere  like the one i was at before i got there, same as the other times probably.
