Little problem with cage and lever
« on: October 16, 2009, 07:52:50 pm »

Hello! I'm a new player and I have came to a problem.

I want to link a lever to a cage containing an animal, however if I do add new task, then press j (to link to a cage) a message saying "there is nothing that can be linked up" comes up. While I have tons of cages filled with humans and goblins just a few tiles away from the lever.

Another question, is there a way to tame and use captured animals so that they become like war dogs? I suppose I must put [trainable] in the txt file, but it must be tamed before we can train it too..right?

You need to build the cage somewhere before you can link it to a lever.  Make sure to press the key (I think x) to expand the list when you place the cage so you know you're placing the right one.

You'd have to mod to train anything other than dogs, yes, and they'd have to be tame first.

I'm not 100% sure, but any mods made to creatures (like trainable or not) might require a world regen before it takes effect.

that or if its like the catsplosion issue, it will only affect new creatures from that point onwards. Current creatures wouldn't have the tag.
