Connecting Areas

I just found out the coolest thing, The map my current fortress, Agemourn, is build on, is surrounded by cliffs, rivers, and other stuff that prevents passage.

But I also just found out, that once I used bridges to connect 'em all. The goblins started spawning WAAAAAY the hell away from my fortress, rather than just above it. While Traders seem to have kept to spawning just above my fortress. The goblins spend a huge amount of time navigating through the forests to get to my roads/bridges, and get across. While traders take the routes I've already cut for them.

Had no idea that this would happen, but it's an interesting thought for you guys who've not built bridges and such over to the various inaccessible parts of your surface map. Ya might want to try it.

Isn't it? try it some time on a map with lots of rivers/canyons. I bet you'll be surprised =3
