After the reprimand seen below:

I think that people would prefer to talk about something interesting and stupid, rather than an actual useful idea. Unless they can actually post something in it, (I.E. They've already had the discussion before, and therefore know a lot more about it.) They aren't going to comment much on your suggestion.

We're all internet rugrats, all we really like is to argue, and to flame people about how the topic has been posted before.

Also, Neonivek, your above post is confusing.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

What do you mean what what?

Also, What? ??? it's confusing.

The OP asked for people's thoughts on the matter.  If people don't have any, they probably should not post in this thread.

I would say:

It's vital that your subject header be an accurate description (and not 'IDEA', or something else relatively unrelated to what you're actually talking about).

Spelling your key words is also important.  I won't complain about their, there or they're, but if you say that you searched for gunpower suggestions, you're asking to get mocked, and worse, littering the board.  (See Oregon/Oregan trail suggestions)

Walls of text are hard to read, and most suggestions are rubbish.  If your suggestion is hard to read, I'll assume it's probably rubbish and ignore it. (ok, not your suggestions, since I've read enough of yours to know I like them).  The longer the suggestion is, the more organization it needs.  If it's longer than 2 long paragraphs, summarize with a TL/DR at the bottom (label it as such, or just say 'in summary')

I tend to take the 'if you don't have something nice to say' bit rather seriously.  Sure, multiplayer will probably never happen, I don't even want it too, but it doesn't hurt anybody if people talk about it.  If a discussion starts sounding more like a vote than a discussion, I may nay-say, but not until then.

Steampunk and Multiplayer have been explicitly taken off the table, but saying 'This isn't DF, and shouldn't be talked about' like a few players talking about it is a threat to continued development is a little bombastic, venturing into dogma.

This is especially true in the grey areas that haven't been explicitly discussed.
