Magma Men
« on: October 08, 2009, 06:49:09 pm »

I've been trying for hours and have read the wiki and I can't get magma men to be playable for adventure mode. What do I add and where in the raws to accomplish this.  Any help is appreciated.

If your armor was 50% as good as two other civs and 30% as good as a third, do you really think you'd do well in war? That'd be like trying to engage a rocket-launcher mounted Humvee with a pistol riding a tricycle.

Have you made an entity for them yet? You need to at the very least have a magma man civilization. Look at entity_standary.txt and the wiki for "Entity Tokens" to figure that out.
There's two tags to allow adventurer mode. [ADVENTURE_TIER:#] is necessary if you want to start with skills and weapons/armor (which must be in the entity entry). [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] allows the Play Now! option (start with no items or skills in a random fort of yours).

What's the minimum tags to PLAY NOW for magma men.

As you can probably tell I'm not good at modding.

No worries.

The absolute minimum is:

Code: [Select]
[ENTITY:MAGMA]
[INDIV_CONTROLLABLE]
[CREATURE:ELEMENTMAN_MAGMA]

I tried it out. Don't know how or if it's possible to throw fireballs though.

Thanks it worked, one question though does it have to be in a certain order?

Does what have to be in a certain order? The entity tokens?
As far as I know, order does not matter, as long as they take place after the [ENTITY:SOMETHING] token and before the next [ENTITY: SOMETHING_ELSE] token, they'll be counted.

Will they be scared by magma and cancel jobs because of dangerous terrain?
