hey! i didnīt start dwarf fortress for some time and now i did, and the game acts kinda strange:

when i try to open any of the windows like "u; unit list" or "a: view announcments" the windows opens all flashing making it impossible to work with. the announcments on the bottom (like "snatcher! watch the little ones") too are all flashy. You guys have any idea whatīs going on and how i can fix it?

Open the ini file, look for partial print. Disable partial print. If the flashy stuff isnt flashy anymore, you got your reason.

then its just a matter of turning on partial print again and toying around with the framebuffer settings until you dont get flashing anymore.

I'd recommend re-installing.  Or possibly try one of the different versions.  They're still 40d but have various graphical changes.  I'm not sure which one is considered the best right now...

Where can one FIND these versions? I've looked around but can't find anything...

It took me a little while to find it (hint: use Google to search a website for a specific term) but it's in the General Discussion area.  Which makes sense, once I think about it, he does want immediate feedback on any bugs.

Make sure you post on that thread if something goes wrong on that version.  It may even be faster.
