Terrible Commercials
« on: October 07, 2009, 03:47:21 am »

I unfortunately do not have a video for this one, but let me try to explain it a bit.

Most of it is basically standard fare, a commercial for a system that allows you to use your cellphone to call a computer in your house that's hooked up to a computer driven deadbolt in your door, such that you can unlock it if you forget your keys.

Not really that interesting of a commercial until the very, very end, just as the commercial fades to black and your turning your attention away. It isn't really over. Audio kicks in.

I mean, they don't even bother to dress up such a flagrant attempt at subliminal messaging. Do they really think that anyone is going to believe that that line is actually a voice in their head, and not coming from the TV?

This had better be directed at the makers of the commercial and not the viewers of the commercial.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

That lock product isnt really that big a deal.  They were trying to mass market it.  It sells big in enviroment where movement restricted people need to keep their doors locked and still be able to let people in.

I saw this one for a pad that charges your electronics just by setting them on it where the characters constantly said what I assume must have been fuck by the way it was used over and over throughout the conversation for no apparent reason.  Obviously it was bleeped but I can't figure out whether that was more or less annoying.
