Rebelion?
« on: June 30, 2007, 06:43:00 am »

I was reading the Core Development list and I noticed that one thing that is planned is that eventually you will recieve orders from the king to provide troops and things. I just had the idea now that a possibility would be to declare independence from the kingdom. You wouldn't have to fulfill these orders but also the dwarven caravan would stop happening and you would get attacked by dwarves.

Just an idea.

I think that would be pretty cool.

I also think it would be cool to 'go along' with him for a while, and then when/if your city becomes the capital, you could kill him and put a more sensible dwarf on the throne (IE: Yourself).

Everyone a rebel!

(Until the hammerdwarf gets you.)

Yay! More sieging races to justify my ridiculous defenses!

Also, I'd imagine getting seiged by the dwarves would be dangerous... since they might easily come with steel armour... and maybe a catapult or something.

Well, if your going to argue like that then nothings ever going to do any damage because it spawns in a magma lake. If you don't have a magma lake though then it would do damage.

The idea I posted earlier was that killing (or losing to accident) nobles would cause you to rebel... the main immediate consequence being that the original dwarf civ sieges your fort.

It would be cool if the King tried to rebel against YOU. Like, all the non-noble dwarves vs the nobles, perhaps with some reinforcements from off the map. That way, it would be possible for the King to take command of the fortress. Then, in adventure mode, you could slay the tyrant and reclaim the fortress with the dwarves still in it. This sounds really hard to do, but really cool.
