Learning Russian?

I want to Russian. But I'm kinda stuck, where should I start? I don't want to spend money on classes, but I don't have a problem with purchasing books. The main things I'm looking for are vocabulary and grammar lessons, I already know how the alphabet works. So, any tips, or links to websites, books etc. ?

I'm not sure about how to start, but I can recommend a way to help you easily learn vocabulary viz. spaced repetition software. It works with flashcards. But instead of going through a pack of cards randomly, it uses a fancy algorithm to work out when you've just start to forget a card and then asks you it (so no time wasted on revising stuff you know well). It allows you to retain a large amount of words with minimal effort. I've used it a lot for Esperanto volcab.

A few other notes on learing volcab: Switch to a Russian dictionary as quickly as you can, since a bilingual dictionary sometimes misses out on the nuances. Also, flashcards are great for getting a basic volcab, but for advanced usage you should just read a lot of literature.
