My last vanilla fort (before moving to Dig Deeper) had, as far as I am concerned, the best engraver I have ever seen. I had all my hallways filled with pictures of dwarfs killing elfs, goblins killing elfs and elfs cringing, with a nice demon thrown in for good measure.

Later when I inspected my civ's legends I found out that my civ (Violent Whips) had been in war with all of the six elf civilizations from year one. By the time I started making forts in the region Violent Whips had lost all of it's mountainhomes, had four of it's six kings outlive their children (the two others only ruled for a couple of years) and it seems they even allied with goblins in some point to destroy the pointy-eared hippies.

If only my PC had the muscle to continue that save. The fort even had an 80-level volcano above a joyous wilds forest, so it would have been so easy to burn all those little creatures the elves love so much.
