In real life, an action can be misinterpreted, so if a person saw the effects of your actions, and accused you of doing them on purpose, the player could get the option of an "I didn't intend to cause all of those side effects" response...

More potential areas of development?

Interesting. I'd hope that the only way to remove the curse is to be evil and fallible...and thus prove to be human. But I hope too much.
