Reclaiming Magma Forges
« on: September 19, 2009, 11:44:06 am »

I've found a workaround to the bug where reclaimed magma forges don't work because the magma pipe they are based off has already been discovered.

If you wall off the magma somehow from the main fort and then abandon, the magma will be hidden upon reclaim.

I'd post proof, but my only internet source prevents me from accessing image-hosting websites, among other things.

Wall off the room that the magma forge is in you mean?

I'm having some perplexing difficulty in reproducing this.
I gave it a try and when I reclaimed, I could already build magma buildings even before I revealed the hidden magma pocket. I thought maybe it could be a difference between magma at the surface that starts discovered, and magma underground that has to be found, but I tried both and it made no difference.
This is annoying because I know I've been unable to build magma stuff upon reclaim when I did it in forts I cared about.

I also tried putting magma onto a site that didn't start with any (I'm too lazy to link to how to do this; it involves an adventurer activating a magmaduct precisely aligned across two sites), hiding it, and then revealing it with a reclaim party, but I couldn't enable magma buildings that way.
