Will Goblin sieges continue if population drops below 80?

If I get 80 dwarves and then immediately kill about 30 of them will I eventually get Goblin sieges and the Barons entourage with that lower population?

Sorry if this has already been answered, I've been searching for quite a while and couldn’t find an answer.  :-[

I'm pretty sure sieges take into account both dead and alive dwarves, so once you hit 80 sieges should continue, even if you kill off 30 dwarves, they may still come.

If you don't like sieges, just go into your Init and turn sieges off
