Farm plot over stairs.
« on: October 12, 2009, 02:13:14 am »

Carve an up-down stairs in stone.
Floor that tile.
Add water, let it dry out.
Build farm polot over the mudded tile.

Destruct the floor and voila, you have downstairs with a farm plot over it.

Both the stairs and the farm are perfectly usable.

It reminds me of the ice ramp existence hole, for some reason.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

What is the ice ramp existence hole, and why does it sound like the kind of thing that would happen when someone divided by zero in the Arctic?

"Void Tiles". I wonder what happens if you atom-smash one of those.

Too bad it's not particularly useful, considering dwarves will frequently trample over whatever's growing in that tile.

Huh? Farm plots are trample-proof - only grass, shrubs, and saplings can ever get trampled...

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
