The best laid plans....
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:58:00 am »

So, I was going to start working on a big megaproject today.

I found a nice site, got all my gear ready, was surprised and happy to see a GCS off WAAAAAAY in the corner of the map, where i could leave it be until i could capture it (i had an idea for a GCS silk factory...).

First wave of immigrants show up juuuuuuust outside it's web, and lead it directly into my entryway.

I now have 8 dwarves living, 4 wounded.

Thank you, poor huddled masses, for bringing all that Fun into my fortress!

Dwarf fortress will never go as expected, if you stop expecting anything you won't be disappointed.

Well, it's like they say: the best-laid plans of dwarves and elves often go awry... especially the elves, those dirty treehuggers. ;)

If the elves made plans, they wouldn't wander among the trees without actually building anything at all.  They can't even be bothered to build tree houses...

Now the dwarves, on the other hand...they basically thrive on catastrophe.
