giant hero
« on: August 27, 2009, 01:48:49 pm »

I have found a giant who is clearly a dwarf at heart:
I am Atup Steelgleam the Pride of Justices!
Master of Acithi Pristinesmiled, leader of The Persuasive Valley, whose pointed ears now decorate my dining room table!

This giant has actually killed several elven leaders, along with ten more elves I brought as meatshields.

Happens sometimes when a megabeast/semi megabeast that can learn becomes enemy of some fact and said faction actually tries to fight back in some way, and the creature actually survives. Eventually you meet said creature in adventurer mode and discover it is in fact a legendary wrestler after it kills you 7th adventurer with a single punch after arm-locking him. Which totally didn't happen to me, btw.

Anyway semi-megabeasts with legendary fighting skills can many times be scarier then an actual megabeast, and this is also probably why bronze colossi should never have the [CAN LEARN] tag, at least untill some modder does it, of course. But anyway we probably already have something at least similar to that in the form of skeletal titans, but i'm not sure if skeletal creatures keep the skills they had when they were alive.

I fought a giant today who was totally full of BS. He had never killed anyone before, only stolen some jewelry or something like that so when I first talked to him he just announced his intention to kill me. The battle started and he smashed about three of my goblin thief party members apart. The battle went on for so longer he later announced himself again, this time mentioning how he had 'fed so and so (my companions) to his beasts' and so on. I was there the whole time and never did any of those things!

I actually fought a zombie titan for so long that it announced itself about ten or eleven times. This is incredibly long into the fight with a nearly fresh adventurer, and by the seventh time I had...

a bruised finger. Fantastic.

I set the trees on fire and waited for it to fall over, then tried smacking it with my -Iron Scimitar-.

No go.

It proceeds to announce itself a few more times, then I let it burn to death.

most mega bests die in the first 50 years or wuss out but if thay keep fighting then all the leaned skills and attribute increases can make them killing machines.

p.s. any kill count under 20 is low for a mega best, ive had men wheve kill counts in 350+

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Look on the bright side- it provides you plenty of time to shoot them with a crossbow while they do their evil villain speech.

And by 'shoot them with a crossbow', I mean buy a crossbow, train with it, hang out at the pub, and come back.

True enough but some people end the gen soon so they can fight the dragons and hydras before they die in legends; as a result their count can be low.

Yeah, I fought a wrestler who had killed several peasants from a nearby human town (Consquently, the person that was supposed to die was another giant in the same cave. I ended up killing seven notables, in the same cave.) He falconed punched my bowman, literally punching and causing him to explode into several mangled pieces. He managed to lock my leg before I got a lucky upper body hit which got both of his lungs, his throat, and his heart.

And thus did the dream of dwarven antigravity fade away, not with a massive explosion or a flood of magma, but with a whimper.

I'm going to be depressed all day now.
