She's wearing full plate and full chain: all steel.

(I actually did suggest this as possible with weight).

How do I get her to take it off?

v(iew), p(rofile), s(oldier),  then <a> for changing armor and < s > for shield.

Or the <m>ilitary menu, and <w>eapons submenu.

But you wouldn't want to do that if you can help it - she'll drop all the pieces right there in a pile, requiring about 8-10x the number of hauling jobs as if she just carried them herself, wearing it all.

its not that she won't move, she /can't/ move

</jk>

fixed

Full plate weighs maybe 2-3000 - that would cut into a no-Strength dwarf's speed, but hardly paralyze them into (apparent) true immobility. (That would take, say, a bin full of 100 cows or something similar.)

Really though, I don't see what the big deal is. She wasn't all that skilled.. you can easily get a far better military dwarf simply by having two guys strip-spar wrestle for a year and become champion wrestlers.

actually, this happened to me.  did you by chance give an order for all dwarves to stay indoors?

and if you haven't, try cycling it.

I had an immigrant wave, and they only moved from their spot when i released the "all dwarves stay inside" order.

You never said whether taking the dwarf off duty did anything.

Whenever an immigrant like that arrives, I usually have to stand him down so the rest of the immigrants can enter the map.

I took her off duty several times. Nothing. I ended up with 15 total pop though if that helps.
