Pressure? What pressure?

So I'm trying to bring water from the nearby brook under my magma moatwith a U-shaped pipe, and I was hoping to use water pressure to bring it back up to the surface. At first, I made the mistake of only making the source one z level over the output. Realizing the mistake, I used a screw pump to put another tile of water on the top, but it still refuses to flow upwards.

I hope I made this clear enough, and if a save is needed, I'll put one up.

The spot your pump is putting water to is closed in so it's sitting at 7/7?

A save game might be faster. But what your saying does seem like your on the right path.
