Greatest Gods

I had a female god called Bese the Bad Poet. She was the goddess of contracts, marriage and torture. Seemed appropriate.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Here are a few:

Tobul the Torrid Fires, represents volcanoes and mountains. Most often takes the form of a... hairy marmot.

The hairy marmot bit threw me off because while I get the part about mountains and that, hairy marmots and volcanoes just don't connect for me.

Morul (yes, MORUL), most often takes the form of a male dwarf and is associated with scholarship (and I'm sure, knowledge). A pretty popular god in my fortress.

Rubal the Fin of Lakes, most often takes the form of a female dwarf and represents.... you guessed it, water. While dwarves aren't usually water type people, even dwarves need water gods/goddesses in their pantheon. I've seen nature type gods and one or two that represent lightning (think Zeus). Also one of the more popular gods in my fortress atm.

A Dark Dwarven diety who beared the title of "Godly Messiah", associated with fortresses and slavery. Perhaps he was like a Jesus who saved the Darks from the other Dwarves and freed them from slavery.

Gadan, Dwarven god of -Dance-.

He's popular, the only male (dwarf) god for this world too.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)

One of the biggest families in the fortress worships her along with a few other Dwarves

Momoz Graveburied the Dead of Dying, a female dwarf associated with death. She's very popular with all of my nobles...

Pah!

I give you:

Ast Solonnoglesh Milol Egståk "Ask Flagsavages the Messiah of Eviscerators"

Ask Flagsavages the Messiah of Eviscerators is a deity of the Fences of Stroking.  Ast most often takes the form of a female dwarf and is associated with chaos, war and fortresses.

Engraved on the floor is a well-designed image of a kobold and a carp.  The kobold is making a plaintive gesture.  The carp is laughing.
