                                  BloodScribed

This charred book was brought to the great dwarven forge as the only record to what  went on in the BloodScribed reigon.

    3rd Granite
We arrived just down-ridge of our destination.  I hear tell that this terran is deathly so we've decided to start quick...  We've begun clearing a few areas to dig into the hill (It cant be called a mountain more a meddow) and we're hoping to work quick enouh that we can get the basic defences up before long...  The open magma source we found should be a great help here.  And maybe we'll luck out and be able to hold off on any of the fighting we're going to have to be sure to prepare for.  My six companions and I have started off on the request of king to set up a forward defence against the inevitable Orc surge.  We dont know where the orcs came from but they've tore up alot of our outposts and we can only hope we can stop them here.  We are truely the LAST line of defence and if we fail the forge falls.
You may wonder why I have so much time to write when we need to jump-start the building of our fortifications but really its quiet right now.  We're waiting for the miners to hit rock so we can begin construction.

In our exploratory mining hopeing to dig up stone to start construction of forges we've hit copper! Looks like this fortress may have more value than just pure defence.  We've started to mine it out even though we urgently need normal stone.  We figure we have a few seasons before any foreigners come.

Damn fire imps! Started a wild-fire that killed both our smith/trader AND our mechanic.  We cant afford to be two men down this early.  But I dont know how to counter-act their water just yet.  I fear we may be doomed.

    3rd Slate
Fire imps took down the tree-cutter today.  It looks like we are indeed screwed.  I've ordered everyone to keep clear of the magma pit.  Four fire imps are stationed outside our forges.  I'll have to find another way into the fortress.

I've decided for a last stand me and the survivors are going to try to rush the imps.  I'm leaving this book with our wagon just in case.  Even if we survive I feel we shall be too depressed to continue and hence will drag ourselves back to the forge and hope the king forgives us.

                                              *Note by Historians*
The scribe working on this was killed in that marvelous push.
While three survived the attack one died en-rout back to the forge.
When asked about how they won the soldiers replied simply that the imps seem'ed to be afraid of dwarfs with nothing to lose and when they rushed them they just ran.
Some call for a return to the reigon.  Depending on wether or not support comes to the proper sources this will forever be a failed attempt at fortifying the prairy lands against an orc offensive.
