Too many explosives can be solved by disposing of the excess explosives... with explosives. Easy. One big boom, and now you don't have too many explosives.
Also, you forgot about "rendered irrelevant"
Liver cancer? Boom! You have a liver? You don't even got lower torso.
Research paper due? Boom! Expelled for blowing up your dorms.

Just think how big a stack of bolts you could make from that thing!
By my calculations, you could make a stack of 80 bolts from one dead whale. Now that it was blown to pieces, you could make 16 stacks of 5 bolts each.
