and here is the balcony above. i plan to create statue gardens, wait for all the non-military dwarves to enter the balcony, and lock the doors. that way, they are forced to watch the bloodsport!

I had a kid that got possessed, and made a chalk bed with rings of chalk for 7800. WORST ARTIFACT EVER. and since he's had his once in a lifetime mood, he'll never have another. So, nothing decent made, once a lifetime opportunity wasted and no upgrade.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

That's not wasted. The kid will grow up to be an epic crafter.

dieinafire, looking nifty. loving the scale of that thing.

let's hope your dwarves are up to the task of bapping gobbos on the head. also, i wonder how your fps will handle 150 gobs released simultaneously!

It is a total pain in the butt, but you gotta do what you gotta do if you want that upright candy weapon.
Your suspicions are nothing more than superstition

To disarm the gobbos just go into stocks and mark all weapons dumped then once that's done go back into stocks and reclaim em.

My first artifact which I didn't take a screenshot of was something like a gem encrusted wooden blowgun.

A bit of a bump, but I just got an Obsidian bed from my (former) Captain of the Guard (he's now a full-time mason). Not surprisingly, it also menaces with lots of spikes.

Lalrakas, "The South Stranger", a Obsidian bed
Weight: 667Γ
Basic Value: 117600☼

This is a Obsidian bed. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encircled with bands of Obsidian, char bone, and Emerald. This object menaces with spikes of Obsidian, Aluminum, cave lobster shell and donkey leather.
On the item is an image of The Triangle of Gills the Obsidian earring in Obsidian.
On the item is an image of mechanisms in char bone.
On the item is an image of Smunstu Trailtorment the goblin and Zefon Halldangled the Entangled Shrine the dwarf in steelhead trout bone. Smunstu Trailtorment is making a plaintive gesture. Zefon Halldangled the Entangled Shrine is laughing. The artwork relates to the mortal wounding of the goblin Smunstu Trailtorment by the dwarf Zefon Halldangled the Entangled Shrine in Towerclouted in the early spring of 210 during Stotumuz, "The Singed Attack".

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Possessions don't give XP.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
