3rd Granite, 56
I have been sent here from the mountainhomes to better enforce a sense of religion in this hellhole.  I shall for now wait and scout out this place before I make my assessment of the place.

21st Granite
After a careful inspection of this place I have noticed that there are no temples built here for religious worship.  I already have plans for one dedicated to Amok.

2nd Slate
Construction of the temple is well underway, and I have already talked with the miners about putting in magma and water channels.

8th Slate
A special announcement from the mountainhomes has arrived.  The king, impressed with the progress of this settlement, decided to make this place and the lands around it a barony, and as such along with the regular flow of immigrants came a tax collector, hammerer, and baroness.
9th Slate
Unimpressed with the amount of guards in the fort, the new baroness recruited most of the newly arriving immigrants into two categories of royal and fortress guards, soon they should be taking up their new positions, but how safe can we really feel with these newly recruited guards.

12th Slate
Construction of magma pipes have slowed with workers complaining of damp and warm stone, these faithless people have to be told multiple times to dig there anyways before they finally jump into action.

18th Slate
Due to a shortage in alcohol, the mayor has ordered that stills run day and night producing beer until this shortage is over.

2nd Felsite
Construction on the temple is once again stalled due to new nobles demanding bedrooms, dining rooms, offices, and even their own tombs.  Using this to my advantage, I offered to place the nobles’ tombs in the new catacombs I have planned for underneath the temple.

19th Felsite
The catacombs were completed far faster than I expected, and with Baroness and her consort now satisfied with their new tombs all I require now is a couple dozen chairs and statues and the temple will be completed.




Seems strange that right when I start economy sets in.  Never dealed with economy before but I set all the rooms to be rented out and I am hoping for the best.

Hi, my computer is behaving again (sort of), so I'd like to try taking my turn sometime. Only problem is that now school has started, and I'm working as well, so I may not be able to finish in a very timely fashion. But if you end up with a bit of a gap or something, I'll take a turn.

16th Helmite
In the digging of the magma pipe a fire imp managed to escape and killed the child Stinthäd Erlinzuntîr before the military managed to show up and killed it.  The newly assigned guards were nowhere in sight.

18th Helmite
Negotiations between the baroness and the human diplomat about a cease fire between our two nations has begun, the fortress is split upon whether or not to stay at war.  In other news the magma pit was sealed off to prevent further fire imp outbreaks.

19th Helmite
The decision has been made, we dwarves shall never consider peace with the humans, although seeing the state of our military and guards I wonder how this fort can ever survive an attack by the humans.

1st Malachite
Endok Dokókalath, a siege operator went insane after spending days locked in a workshop.  Apparently he had an idea to build an artifact that would dazzle the eyes of all who see it, but he lacked an important material, silk cloth.  Not wanting to accept and type of substitute, he sat in his workshop until his mind snapped.

2nd Malachite
I have requested the construction of 40 rock chairs in for the temple, the construction of this temple has taken longer than I thought.

2nd Galena
The construction of the temple has finally been completed and has been open to the public, praise be Amok.

13th Galena
Endok Dokókalath, the insane siege operator finally died.  They say that he hadn’t eaten in weeks and finally died of starvation.

Hey all I'm reading up on your story and its looking really good so far... Plannin on keeping rapt attention to this post to see how far it goes.
