"Delete map" option
« on: July 22, 2009, 08:03:55 am »

Sometimes the map generator creates maps that simply arent interesting, particularily if you are creating small maps with particular scenarios in mind (IE: volcanic wasteland, frozen world, jungle world), which might be desired for thematic reasons, or for game challenges. It would be nice to be able to delete undesired regions without having to go manually to the folder.

When you create the map there is an option to accept the map as is, or discard and create a new map. You can scroll around to view the map just to get a general idea of climate and terrain before making your choice.

The screen you're talking about is a little unwieldy for checking out a map, especially if its very large. Also, you might be looking for certain features that cant be seen until you go to start a new fort. There've been a few times when I've wished I could delete world maps in game when the rejects start to clutter up the screen/save files.

Sounds like this thread would meet your needs, though.
