Can you elaborate on how 'corrupt' Indonesia is? Because I barely know anything about the country myself.

And I think we have 2 ways to get the corruption go down.
Either:
Make the law strong again.
or:
Advocate that corruption is sin. <- This is against secularism, BTW.

@Chaoticjosh:
IIRC, it's one of the worst after the African countries.

If you have to bribe someone to get a job or to get into some unis, I'd say that's way corrupt. I had an Indonesian maid who was trying to gather enough money to bribe her way into a job. And while a lot of the neighboring corruption is under the table ($200 set of crappy screwdrivers), in Indonesia, a lot of it is over the table. Contractors would just go "Hey, I could enlarge your kitchen for free, but only if you get your company to pay my company a little extra."

Corruption is pretty damn tough to cure, especially when it's already ingrained in the culture like that.

FANATICISM.

Or, The Complete Brain-Washing of the Learning Generation.

Yeah, fanaticism is a great idea.  Just look to Iran.  Complete theocracy and there is no corruption at all *cough*.

A strong press can help beat corruption, as can heavy bureaucracy.  Sure, it wastes tonnes of money, but it stops corruption dead if you have to leave a huge paper trail.

That's because the bureaucrats aren't (legally) making as much as engineers, doctors, and lawyers, unlike in some other countries :P

The reason our governments appear as corrupt is due to the bureacracy and the strong press.  For instance, Trousergate would never have happened if they didn't keep a stupid and virtually useless list of MPs' expenses.
