I'm not sure if there is an installer. If there is, I propose applying magma to whoever created it.

What comes semi-close is packages like the ones listed here, which come preconfigured and preloaded with graphics sets and mods one might be interested in.

Your wish for a 'simple uninstall button' probably won't be granted by these packages, but do you really need one? Unless you're some variety of technophobe, I can't imagine deleting a folder is a big deal. :)

Other posters are right on the money here though, installing and uninstalling is just extra mess that is not necessary if the application doesn't need shell integration.

The uninstall button is shift+delete ;)

Shift+delete? Why the shift?

the shift deletes a file permanently, instead of sending it to the recycle bin.

Ahh, I see. Thanks.

It's not technophobia. I was just wondering if there was one.

Let me reiterate. I was wondering if there's an installer for 40d9 or 40d11. I don't care if there's not. I was just wondering if anyone had made one. I am perfectly competent using a computer. I know about the release category on the DFFD etc...

@Smew: so what, you never patched it or anything? Cos that game is unstable for half the patches on different computers, it's working out which one is stable for you (around 2/3 split on 1.004 and 1/3 for 1.005 and 1.006

1.006 I'm pretty sure, but it may have been 1.004.
Course, I quit once I got to almost the very last area, found out the mod I had removed the ending, but in turn let you keep playing. :(

The next version also needs some restrictive, overly complicated DRM.

"In order to play this you must first memorize each page on the wiki, then fill out this appropriate questionnaire:"

And no, I wasn't, haven't touched any STALKER forums actually, I wasn't that enthralled with it. :P

Dwarven DRM is powered by windmills and waterwheels and runs on bauxite mechanisms.

Why would you want to go through all the extra work of having an installer when the game does not need one at all..  Especially for what is essentially a test version?
