A Loss of a leg- permanently crippling?
« on: July 12, 2009, 04:47:07 pm »

I have two dwarves who both lost the same leg at the hip, and both also suffered yellow wounds. Thye both got to bed and have now both lost their yellow injuries. Problem is they are both still in bed resting. Will they be like that forever? Or is there a chance they'll get up and walk around a bit eventually?

They'll be like that forever. If a dwarf loses anything he'll be resting for his entire life.

Will there be ways for dwarves to get past this in the next version. (peglegs etc)

I think there are plans for prothesises (sp :P ) in the dev notes and the healthcare system will be revamped in the next version.

Those two dwarves of yours are most likely invalids and it's time to arrange for their.... termination.

@(name here), not neccesarily true, I've had a dwarf lose both eyes, he was bedridden for a while, but got up.

@dsi1, didn't hear about that, but cool.

If they're still in bed, they think they have more healing to do.  When they can't heal any further, they'll get up.  Granted they'll spend the rest of their lives crawling on the ground, most likely.

See the wiki entry on Wounds.
