It broke....
« on: July 05, 2012, 09:18:02 am »

This is a thread for all those little things that break and asking how to fix them, or return them, or exchange them, or get a refund for them.

The tech things, the hardware things, the other things. Whatever.

Realize that you're asking the internet for advice and thus it's a "use at your own risk" kinda deal. There are some tech savy people running around here though.

So I bought one of these little bastards. I left my phone plugged into it overnight because it charges the thing, or rather it is supposed to.... It did not and my phone was quite dead this morning.

I investigated the little plug thing at the back, which is to say the thing on the little docking stand you plug the power cord into. It was weird and didn't seem to fit right. I tried to make it fit (and we all know I'm a wuss so it isn't like I was forcing it) and the damn thing appears to have broken off. The actual thing you plug the power cord into the dock... the charger is rattling around inside this thing.

I love the idea of $50 pieces of hardware breaking within 2 or 3 weeks of purchase at critical times. My phone is my business and without it I'm hosed cause nobody can call me to hire me. I knew it was too freaking quiet this morning.

Anyhow. Setting aside the complaining for one moment, I bought this thing through Verizon, and it is a Motorola device. Anyone know their return/replacement policy on these things?

Go to a store and they will be happy to deal with the bullshit.

I don't know about monetary wise.
